Macau Series (4) - Lou Lim Ieoc Garden

Beyond the glamorous casinos and world class hotels, there are a lot of beautiful places in Macau.  I misses the old Macau a lot and I am going to do a series to showcase some of the prettiest places I know.

Macau's city flower is lotus (water lily) and this flower comes to full bloom in late May to early July.   There are a few sweet spots in town to enjoy this flower and the place I like to go is Lou Lim Ieoc Garden (盧廉若公園, or more commonly known as 盧九).

The Garden used to be the residence of the Lu's family.  Since then, the Garden is purchased by the Macau Government and regarded as a cultural heritage.  The style of the garden is heavily influenced by the Suzhou garden style.  Revolutionist Dr. Sun Yat Sen used to met with other politicians, celebrities, and revolutionists here as well.

The Garden itself is voted as one of the eight attractions in Macau, chose by a panel of judges, under the criteria of historical significance, representation of an era, impressiveness and sustainability.  It is opened to the public for free every day from 6 am to 9 pm.  Locals and tourists alike love the garden and it's a true urban oasis.
